Rock Band 2

I got Rock Band 2. It only cost $110 because of a horrible mistake Toys 'R' Us made when placing an ad. (The deal should have been for Rock Band 1.) I already got on the Rolling Stone Rock Immortals list, so now I just have to do the Endless Setlist 2 (It's 84 songs long). If you have a PS3, my PSN username is the_nacho if you want to add me as a friend.

Little Big Planet

I got Little Big Planet last week, and I completed the main campaign over the weekend. It was really short, but the user-made levels keep it fun. You should get it. I actually published a level that I made; my username on PSN is the_nacho if you want to look me up.

PS3 Broken

My PS3 is broken. It can't read CD's anymore. It's still under warranty (barely), so I sent it back to Sony and they'll fix it. I should get it back by Thanksgiving.

Oh.

I almost forgot. Obama won the presidential election. Yay America!

Fallout 3

I got Fallout 3 last week. I beat it once without doing any of the side-quests, so now I'm going through it again and doing all the side-quests. I highly recommend buying it; the PC version is the best.

Obama Rally

I just got back from an Obama rally at the Liberty Memorial in Kansas City. There were an estimated 75,000 people there. It was awesome.

You can see some of the photos I took in my Flicker photoset of the rally, and you can see some videos I took of the rally at my Vimeo page.

Blog Upgraded and Updated

As you probably haven't noticed, I upgraded my Drupal 5 installation to Drupal 6. Due to limitations of my hosting provider and the differences between Drupal 5 and 6, It was far more complex then I had anticipated. Nevertheless, I am back, and, hopefully, I will continue to update regularly. For now, I will give you a brief summary of the things that happened in the last...um...year.

  • New Year's - Yay
  • I got Burnout Paradise - Yay
  • Mah birthday - Yay
  • School ended - Yay
  • I went to the Missouri Scholars Academy - One of the best experiences of my life, I couldn't possibly tell you everything about it in one post; even two or three wouldn't be enough. I could devote an entire blog to my experiences at MSA. But trust me, it was awesome.
  • School started - Bleagh
  • I got Metal Gear Solid 4 - Yay

That's just a brief rundown, but I might expand on some of those events later.

I've also been working on a lot of songs, so I might be releasing an album soon.

Keep an eye out for updates!

PS3 and Rock Band

I got a PS3 and Rock Band.

PS3:
Awesome graphics. I'm filling up the hard drive downloading demos, (it's the 40 GB one) but I'm gonna put in a bigger hard drive soon. I checked out the hardware specs, and it has 7 operating SPEs (Synergistic Processing Units, they're the Cell Processor's equivalents of CPU cores) with a combined processing power of 2 teraFLOPS. (2 trillion FLoating point Operations Per Second) Compare that to the Xbox 360's measly 115.2 gigaFLOPS. (5.7% of the PS3's processing power) Since I don't own an Xbox 360 and I haven't played around with one, I can't really compare the PS3 to it, but I like the feature (on the PS3) where you can see who you've met in-game and message them and send friend requests to them and stuff. Home looks like it will be good. I hope it will be good.

Rock Band:
An amazing game. I wish the instruments used Bluetooth though. (The drums and mic are wired, and the guitar uses a seperate wireless receiver that you have to plug in to the PS3. You have to get a USB hub to connect all the instruments if you have a 40 GB PS3 like me.) I can play drums and guitar on expert, although, compared to Guitar Hero, the guitar parts in Rock Band are all really easy. But I can play expert on Guitar Hero and Guitar Hero 2, too. (I don't have Guitar Hero 3.) I think vocals are the least popular, but I guess it's fun to do vocals if you can't play drums or guitar. I like the online quick play. You just press search, and it finds people, and you play songs together online. It has no lag, because it offsets the song at the beginning to give the network enough time to receive the other players' data. It was fun for a while, but then the guitar controller broke and I had to send in for a new one. The strum bar wouldn't recognize down strums anymore. Apparently it's a common problem. But I got a new one and it works fine now.

P.S. If you have a PS3, comment with your user name and I'll add you as a friend.

iPod Touch

I just bought a 16GB iPod Touch, and it's pretty awesome. I haven't been able to test out all of the features yet, but the word correction as you type seems pretty good. I'll update this post in a few days with a full "review".

P.S. I wrote this on my Touch.

Stuff That Happened

  • I got a new computer. My new one broke because the motherboard was giving too much power to the video card. But my new one has a dual-core processor, so that's good.
  • I got glasses. Apparently my vision was 20/40. That's not that bad, but with glasses I can see stuff better, so that's good.
  • I found some good bands:
    • Rockesh
    • Menomena
    • The Hours
  • We went to a marching band competition thing at the University of Central Missouri today. We won first place. I play quads in the drumline, and we marched for about an hour in the parade. I was...tired...when it was done. Very, very tired. I don't think it was worth waking up at 5 in the morning and riding the bus for a total of 3 hours, even though we won 1st place. The trophy was pretty small, too. Blargh. I hope we never do it again.
